Finishing From Layoffs Soccer Drill:

How To: 3 v 3 played in a central area with two attacking target players occupying attacking zones as shown in the diagram. Teams must make a number of passes inside the central zone then play a ball into one of their target players. The target player must make a first time lay off for a central player to run onto and shoot first time on goal.

Coaching Points: Weight of pass and layoff is important when striking the ball first time. Get the basic technique right when striking the ball, communicate well and dictate where you would like the layoff, read the game and anticipate play, be positive.
